Spring Break Blessings

I am happy to report that things have been rolling along very smoothly for Bella this week. I have learned that she does have a heart murmur, a common problem with preemies. At this point it’s too soon to know if it will become a "concern" or not.

Her milk intake per feeding and weight continues to increase. Our biggest concern at this point is the fact that Bella is "taking in" more than her Mom is “putting out". Lori & John are working diligently with a lactation specialist and doing everything they can to help the problem. Currently, the nurses are mixing half milk and half formula. Bella is doing okay with this so far, but she has had problems tolerating straight formula before. And even if she gets to a point where her tummy can handle formula, it is not as good for her and she still needs all of the advantages she can get.

Tomorrow (Thursday) we are headed that way! Uncle Andy is planning to go with us (Me, Ricky & Will) for his first trip down. Will and I plan to stay a couple of days and take advantage of Spring Break!!! John says Bella is ready to see me!!! :0 And I have learned that when she reaches 3 pounds, I might get to actually hold her!!!!!
